Give your pup a special treat this Halloween, with a new recipe from our wonderful Ambassadors Dee Dee & Alex.

Made with fresh pumpkin (or any leftovers from Halloween), plus our Verm-X Organic Dog Food Topper: Joint Support Blend, a blend of organic herbs, spices and botanicals to support joint health, but you can use any of our food toppers instead.

Frozen pumpkin pupsicles

Besides being a natural stomach soother and a great source of fibre, pumpkin can help remove excess water in a dog's digestive tract. It also contains essential vitamins and minerals that make it a very healthy treat that's beneficial for their coat and skin.

Here are some ways to get the most out of your pumpkin:

Roasted pumpkin: We find the easiest way is to just roast your pumpkin whole. If you have carved it already, then just chop it up and roast it in the oven.

Toasted seeds: Scoop out the innards, clean off the seeds by rinsing with water and pat dry, then pop them on a baking tray in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until toasted.

Chop/pulse in a blender and store in a jar in a cool dry place and add to your dog's food.

Pumpkin pupsicles recipe

  • Roast pumpkin on a tray.
  • When soft remove from the oven and blend.
  • Freeze into pumpkin moulds (or any you have available).

We added Verm-X Joint Support to our pupsicles, along with some natural yoghurt and meat sticks to make them more interesting.

You can get creative and add anything additional that you want.
